When I visited the Sierra one particular fall season, the mountains showed their October unpredictability in full force: heat, snow, hail, rain, thunderstorms, sun - within just one week, we had it all. While such weather can (and did...) easily thwart plans, it also creates possibilities. This is a shot of Yosemite’s Half Dome, shrouded by rain clouds, at sunset. I liked how the different shades of color in the evening light are picked up by the cloud canvas.
