Space Shuttle Endeavour above the steel skeleton of Hangar One
In a historic flyover event on September 21, 2012, the Space Shuttle Endeavour on its 747 carrier aircraft can be seen above Hangar One at Moffett Field, Mountain View, California. The statistics for both, shuttle and hangar, are incredible. The shuttle performed 4671 number of orbits during which it traveled almost 123.000.000 miles. Hangar One is one of the largest freestanding structures in the world and covers 8 acres. When the photo was taken, the future of the hangar was uncertain despite its status as significant Naval Historical Monument. In 2008, it even got listed as one of the 11 most endangered historic places in the US.
This photo looks stunning when printed on metal with glossy finish. Whenever I bring it to art shows, it sells within the first hour. My preferred print size for best impact is 20x30 but it also works well in 16x24 or, if you have the space, in 30x45.NASASpace shuttleNASA Space ShuttleGliderOrbiterEndeavourSpace Shuttle EndeavourSpace shipOV105NASA Ames Research CenterMoffett FieldMountain ViewFlyoverEndeavour flyoverHistoricHistoric eventHistoric flyoverCaliforniaUSALast voyageFerry flightFerry flight on SCA NASA905BoeingShuttle Carrier AircraftISSInternational Space StationCalifornia Science CenterLos AngelesAstronautMoffett Federal AirfieldHangar OneNaval Historical MonumentHistoric American Engineering Record CA335State of California Historic Civil Engineering LandmarksNaval airship stationGerman air ship and structural engineer Dr. Karl ArnsteinKatzprints PhotographyKatja Zuskeblackandwhitemonochromemono
